My wife and I had moved to Maryland from Arizona April of 2001. We had a temporary place to stay. We were both looking for full time work, as the weeks past, I took a temporary job with Staples and we ended up moving in to a motel in Laurel in August that same year.
September started as any other day, I was shut up in a small room counting money for the store when I got a call from my wife… She was watching the events unfold and when I came out to talk to the staff of the store, it was quiet…
I was completely speechless. Some people verbalized their dismay, out right dis-belief , fear and sadness.
Days later my wife and I started working in DC, at the National Press Building, about a block and a half away form the White House…
Although I have always been grateful for those who serve our country to protect us, I had an even great appreciation after looking into the area where the Pentagon was hit and talking with people who were there that day. Thank you just does not seem to be enough!
So if given the opportunity let me show my appreciation personally.
